Homer Township Board Regular Meeting Minutes
January 12, 2026 at 5:30 pm
Location: Homer Town Hall
Board Members in Attendance: Chairman Harlan Larsen, Supervisor Gordy Nagle, Supervisor Adam Carlson, Treasurer Kim Skappel, Clerk Charlotte Roraff
Absent: None.
Meeting was called to order by H. Larsen at 5:31pm followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Prior meeting minutes were read by C. Roraff. G. Nagle made a motion to accept the minutes as read. H. Larsen seconded. Vote taken, 2 in favor. A. Carlson abstained. Motion carried.
Meeting agenda was reviewed. G. Nagle made a motion to accept the meeting agenda. A. Carlson seconded. Vote taken, 3 in favor. Motion carried.
Public comments started. Joe Neumann made comments.
A. Carlson reported a new snow plow driver, Sam Watkowski, has been hired to help cover the plowing needs when Kevin is unavailable.
H. Larsen had the following to report regarding Homer Township Roads:
Snow plow and grader have been out to help with snow and ice.
Oil leak in the sander so the truck will need to go in for repair.
A. Carlson stated the Township is also looking to hire a back up grader operator. The plow need was more pressing so that is getting addressed first. Additionally, he is willing to be a second back up once he is licensed. Brief discussion was had on the need for operators.
A. Carlson indicated the grader operator requested more gravel added on Homer Avenue beyond the bridge. H. Larsen noted this for spring gravel deliveries.
Assistant Chief Bruno gave a brief update. They had a total of 96 calls in 2025. They are preparing their year end report for the Township.
K. Skappel confirmed the Board of Audit will happen during the February regular board meeting.
C. Roraff requested the board hire Adam Carlson, Gordy Nagle, Kim Skappel and Rita Prodzinski as election judges for the March Township election. H. Larsen made a motion to hire the election judges as requested. G. Nagle seconded. Vote taken, 3 in favor. Motion carried.
C. Roraff confirmed the clerk’s office will be open January 13th from 1pm to 5pm to accept candidate filings.
G. Nagle made a motion to adjourn the meeting. A. Carlson seconded. Vote taken, 3 in favor. Meeting adjourned at 5:54pm.
